Maine Adopts New Electronic Waste Producer Responsibility Act

On April 22, 2004, Maine enacted a producer responsibility law for manufacturers of computer monitors and televisions. The law requires manufacturers of computer monitors and televisions -- both CRTs and flat panel displays -- to implement plans for the handling of all products received at consolidation facilities in Maine.
