Recycling Law Initiatives in China

Product Take-back

This Report aims at providing EIATRACK members with an overview of key China law drafting initiatives aimed at establishing and strengthening China's legal framework for take-back and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and other products and materials.

In particular, we review the status of the following initiatives:

(1) Draft Circular Economy Law;

(2) Draft Regulation on Recycling and Treatment of Waste Household and Electrical Appliances (often referred to as "China WEEE");

(3) Draft Standards Addressing Recyclability Marking Requirements and Recycling Ratios; and

(4) Existing Management Methods on Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control for Electronic Wastes.
