Introduction

In Ireland EU requirements on nickel are transposed into national law via "S.I. No. 852/2004 — European Communities (Dangerous Substances and Preparations) (Marketing and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2004".

Defined Restrictions:
0.2 microgram/cm2/week (migration limit) for items pierced into the human body
0.5 microgram/cm2/week in articles coming into direct and prolonged contact with skin.
