Introduction

In Poland EU requirements on cadmium are transposed into national law. The legislation has been laid down to protect the environment from cadmium contamination. Part of this legislation has direct relevance for products imported into the EU. This document describes these product-related legislative requirements:

  1. Cadmium restriction applicable to all products and product parts where cadmium is used to (1.1) colour specific materials, (1.2) stabilize specific materials, (1.3) plate specific products

  2. Cadmium restriction in packaging materials

  3. Cadmium prohibition in electrical and electronic equipment
  4. Cadmium in textiles

Defined Restrictions:

All articles: 0.01% by mass in specific plastics
Specified articles: prohibition
Packaging: 100 ppm for sum of heavy metals
Electronics: 0.01%
Textiles: Prohibition
