Introduction

As required by the 2010 National Solid Waste Law (No. 8830/2010), the Ministry of Health has published regulations imposing extended producer responsibility for special management wastes, including several types of batteries.

The 2010 e-waste regulation (Decree 35933-S/2010) includes batteries for certain electronics products, among those for which producers (including importers and distributors) must take responsibility at their end of life.
