Introduction

Maryland has joined the states that restrict the use of certain toxic substances in electronic products.

1. Toxics in Packaging Legislation

Maryland has adopted legislation modeled after the Model Toxics in Packaging Legislation which regulates packaging containing cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury.

2. Mercury-Specific Legislation

Maryland’s mercury legislation restricts the sale of certain mercury products.

3. Flame Retardant Legislation

Maryland has adopted legislation that restricts TCEP and TDCPP in children's products.
