USA - Rhode Island Summary

Rhode Island has joined the states that are considering adopting regulatory measures that specifically address the management of used or discarded electronic equipment. Three legislative proposals to comprehensively manage mercury-containing devices are pending in the Rhode Island General Assembly, and a rule has been proposed that would add cathode ray tubes ("CRTs") and mercury-containing devices to the state’s universal waste rule.
