Maryland has enacted legislation to establish minimum energy efficiency standards for various products, including external power supplies. The "Maryland Energy Efficiency Standards Act" ("the Act") requires manufacturers of most covered products to test them and certify that they meet or exceed the standards. The Maryland Energy Administration ("MEA") is responsible for implementing the Act by adopting procedures for testing, certification and labeling of covered products.
